About TAPS

The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) is the national organization providing compassionate care for the families of America’s fallen military heroes. When a veteran or currently-serving member of America’s armed forces dies, TAPS is on the front lines providing compassionate care to the families left behind.

Survivors helping survivors heal.

Hosts the TAPS Online Community of survivors, providing secure chat rooms, message boards, blogs, peer group discussion sites, and an extensive website at www.taps.org.

Sponsors Military Survivor Seminars and Retreats for adults and Good Grief Camps for young survivors in locations across America. These events give survivors the opportunity to share, grow, and help each other heal.

...survivors through a network of peer mentors. Mentors are trained volunteers who have also lost a loved one in the Armed Forces and are now standing ready to reach out to others.

Provides

...the National Military Survivor Helpline 24 hours a day, 7days a week at 800-959-TAPS (8277).

Publishes

...a quarterly magazine focusing on vital issues facing military survivors. The magazine is sent free of charge to survivors, commanders, chaplains, casualty staff and caregivers.
